Chrome download file disappear

There is no "Aw, Snap" message or anything, it just disappears from the screen. It will even happen when I'm in the middle of streaming video. My Chrome version is up to date (I went to the ≡ icon, clicked "About Google Chrome" and saw the message "Google Chrome is up to date." I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome.
